So what is ISO 17025 Malaysia?

ISO 17025 is essentially a quality management system and it happens to be the main standard for testing and calibration laboratories. It evaluates the technical competence in laboratory testing and calibration, applying to organizations that will be producing testing and calibration results. 

How does a lab achieve accreditation? 

In order to receive the ISO 17025 accreditation, a third-party will evaluate the technical competence and quality management system of a laboratory thoroughly. The accreditation is only granted by an authorized accreditation body and audits need to be conducted regularly in order for the lab to maintain the accreditation.

Basically, if a lab has met the ISO 17025 accreditation, it means that the lab has met all the Management & Technical requirements of ISO 17025 and is technically competent to produce testing & calibration results.

Usually, accredited members’ test results have to meet the same minimum quality standard during testing, regardless of the different accreditation body. The calibration results have to be recognized as if they did the calibration themselves.
